So Marvel Studios took an actor I dislike, and a character I never cared about, and made a movie...and I loved it.

First and foremost- It is by far the most eye-popping superhero flick I have ever seen, the VFX are astounding and unlike anything I have ever experienced outside a mushroom trip. Just straight-up jaw-in-your-lap amazing.

So if you are a fan of the MCU, find the time (wink) to go see this And in case you're wondering- Rachel McAdams is still extremely gorgeous. Cumberbatch is Dr Stephen Strange, an arrogant prick with a planet-sized ego fueled by stupid amounts of narcissism, and by the end...he is...something different entirely, and the ride is fun as hell. The action is very martial arts and VFX heavy, and the blend is seamless and well choreographed. The only thing I was disappointed by, and yes- it's art direction related- was the way the main villain was adapted to the screen. Wasn't a fan of how they did Dormammu. I was psyched by the thought of seeing this character on screen, until I saw him on screen. But that's literally it. Just a small artistic nit-pick.
