When a trio of thieves get a hot lead on a potential mark, they find themselves the unfortunate applicants for a job that unknowingly leads them into the vulnerable confines of the darkness of silence, pitting them against a seemingly unstoppable force. What transpires is a taught, white-knuckle thriller that will grab you by the throat and won't let go.

Yikes.

While I may not scare easily, I do love a tense, edge of my seat thriller, and Don't Breathe delivered to this guy exactly what he paid for...and what a ride it was. Really glad I saw this in the theater. Great jump-scares that got me every damn time kept me suited in goosebumps, and the air conditioning got lost in the chills provided by brilliantly creepy sound direction. A lot of pivotal moments in this film are silent save for minimal sfx, and it lends a great deal to the suspense. I don't believe I blinked once during the scene filmed entirely in the dark, which is one of my favorite scenes in the entire film, and one of many that you find yourself holding your own breath. Another scene literally made me want to vomit. It was quite extreme, and a script-flip on a very, very intense moment I was not anticipating to begin with, that ended even more shocking than I had expected. If you love this genre of suspense thriller/horror, make sure you watch this one. It's great, I loved it, and it's worth every second of nail-biting, piss-your-pants suspense.
